The H.265+ codec greatly reduces bandwidth and storage usage, enabling more cost-efficient video retention.
The NVR also supports PoE+, simplifying wiring and installation. It supports up to 720 days of recording with 10TB, helping reduce storage costs.

Low Cost Through Cloud Independence and On-Prem Recording

  Because VIGI does not store recordings in the cloud, there are no cloud storage fees or large-scale data transfer charges.
  Management cloud functions mentioned below are also available at no extra cost.
  Example: VIGI NVR1008H supports up to 10TB HDD and can store up to 720 days of footage locally. The higher-end VIGI NVR4032H expands to 64TB for long-term on-prem retention.
- 2. Commercial storage media can be used
  
  Another cost advantage is that you can choose commercially available HDDs or SSDs based on your environment instead of relying on proprietary storage media.
- 3. Cloud management functions are provided free of charge
  
  Recorded data is stored locally, but VIGI Cloud VMS (free) still provides the convenience of cloud-based video management and alert notifications from remote locations.
- 4. Durable design for long service life
  
  Models with IP67 dust/water resistance and IK10 impact resistance reduce replacement frequency even outdoors or in crowded areas, which ultimately lowers costs.
Considerations
- 1. Storage media must be selected and procured
  
  When deploying an NVR, the customer needs to select and procure the storage media (HDD/SSD).
- 2. Cloud storage is not supported
  
  Because the cloud cannot be used directly as a backup destination, customers requiring off-site backup need to combine NAS or another external system.

Dermatology clinic (independent practice)

Background and challenge

When opening a new clinic, the customer considered installing surveillance cameras to improve patient safety and internal management.
Initial quotations from major brands came to about JPY 1.5 million to cover every desired location, far beyond budget. Although the need for surveillance was clear, cost concerns meant some placements would have to be abandoned.
